Auto profit – the lazy way to an automatic income stream

Is there a way to make an auto profit online – a system whereby a person can generate an automatic income stream?

Well, for the person just starting out in internet marketing, I have some bad news – there isn’t! Maybe some of the renowned names around the internet can do it, but they have armies of affiliates and outsourced staff working for them twenty four hours a day. They also have an opt-in list of thousands, with each of those email addresses locked into an autoresponder sequence, thereby sending out sales letters over and over again. Even with a miniscule response rate, the sheer weight of numbers will provide these gurus with a healthy income for virtually doing nothing.

However, remember that all these heavy hitters were once in the same position you are in now. They may be making easy money these days, but I am sure they will tell you that their auto profit lifestyle has only come about because of the hard yards they put in early in their career.

So to arrive at their dream auto profit world, you must put in some time and perhaps some money to make your automatic streams of income come about.

The first things you need to have are a product, and a market for that product. Getting products is the easy bit. If you can’t produce your own, buy some resale rights or become an active affiliate. I stress the word active – too many people sign up as an affiliate because it’s free, and then do nothing except put up an obligatory link on their website. This helps no-one - neither the product owner nor the affiliate.

The next thing you need is a way to get people to look at your product and see if they want to buy it or not. You can do this by means of traffic and by getting an opt in list by getting your traffic to sign up to your autoresponder rolodex.

Probably the most effective and quickest way to get traffic is by using the Google Adwords feature – but it is also the quickest way to go broke if you don’t know what you are doing! I’d leave this alone unless you have done extensive research on the subject and have set your budget at a low rate which you can afford.

One of the best ways to get traffic is to write articles, such as I am doing now. However, it does require a bit of work on your part, and you do need to have some literary talent, but you don’t have to be a Shakespeare, just write naturally. One good way is to write down about five or six dot points, and then talk about them into a microphone. You can transcribe your thoughts later, and there you have your article written.

So once you have your market, your product, your opt-in list and your traffic going along quite nicely, you can start to get some regular income coming in. Build on those small beginnings, and you will be living your auto profit dream before you know it!
